While it may surprise residents, since its founding, Whitewater Fire and EMS has largely relied on a paid-on-call staff of EMTs, meaning there are large spans of time when the station doesn't have on-premises staff.
As a result, when a call comes in, paid-on-call staff must first report to the station before departing to the scene. Learn more about the City's plan to increase full time paid-on-premises EMT staffing at the link below.
