Structure Fire - Lake Lorraine Rd (Town Of Richmond)
By Assistant Chief Joe Uselding
December 18, 2018

At 6:17 PM the Whitewater Fire Dept was dispatched to Lake Lorraine Rd in the Town of Richmond for a report of a structure fire. First arriving crews noted a home on fire with flames showing through the roof. Crews determined nobody was home at the time of the incident, but 1 family dog was unable to make it out.

A 3rd alarm was struck for the incident, mainly due to the rural setting and the need for extra water resources at the scene.
The fire was brought under control within approximately 90 minutes. Crews remained on scene for almost 4 hours overhauling the structure. Fire officials noted the residence was set back from the roadway, which required additional resources to setup suppression operations. In addition, the rural location required extended water shuttle operations to fight the blaze. The structure was determined to be a complete loss.
